Introduction to Fabric Weaving

Class Description: $25 / person (plus cost of Weave Easy Tool)

Discover the art of fabric weaving in this delightful introductory workshop! Beginning with ribbon to craft charming accent cards, students will ease into the weaving process with projects that are both approachable and rewarding. The interplay of ribbon widths and colors ensures each creation feels uniquely personal—an expressive first step into the world of textile design.

Throughout the session, we’ll explore foundational techniques such as classic over-under weaving, securing clean edges, and designing with texture and color. For added creative flourish, students can embellish their pieces with beads, embroidery, or other accents—bringing their woven compositions to life.

Whether you're curious about fabric weaving or looking to expand your textile repertoire, this class offers the perfect gateway into more intricate projects and artistic exploration.

Class Preparation:

  • Please bring a selection of your favorite fabric - at least ¼ yard of 3-6 colors to ensure variety.

  • Bring a generous supply of straight pins and a roll of blue painter’s tape to secure your work in progress.

  • Bring a small piece of iron-on stabilizer (12-15” square)

Materials Provided:

  • Weave Easy Fabric weaving tool is available for purchase at a discounted price ($12/set)

  • Each student will be provided a 1" insulation board, sized for their project to use during class

  • A curated fabric stash will be available for anyone needing additional options.

  • Extra pins and tape will be on hand, just in case.

Refreshments/snacks will be provided.
